APCO Americna Pottery Lamb Cookie Jar 1940-50 American Bisque Ohio valley Pottery Farming , Country kitchen Sheep Lamb Chippy paint

$30.00

I am not sure why but pigs and sheep seem to be a popular theme of the 1950s cookie jars. Perhaps to appeal to those who were living farm life or wished they were. This APCO jar is from the 1940s it has chippy paint and crazing but would look so great in a farmhouse kitchen, it has the age and character it should have and no one has tried to repaint it just left it in its vintage charming condition. These cookie jars make super functional accent pieces, or are super for decorating a bistro, coffee shop or bakery.

Measures about 11 inches high and 8 inches wide, crazing on surface, with paint loss. Marked Patent Applied for APCO on base.

AMERICAN POTTERY COMPANY WAS FOUNDED IN MARCH 1942 AS THE STOIN-LEE POTTERY COMPANY IN BYESVILLE , OHIO AND WITHIN SEVERAL MONTHS CHANGED ITS NAME TO AMERICAN POTTERY CO. , (APCO) AND MOVED TO MARIETTA , OHIO WHERE IT OPERATED UNTIL 1965.

APCO'S FEATURE PRODUCT WAS COOKIE JARS DURING THE 1940S-1950S HEYDAY OF CERAMIC COOKIE JAR MANUFACTURING.

This is from the same estate as other jars we are listing. The woman had a liftime collection being sold to finance her new life in retirement - RV living. ;)

Additional

Generally, buyers pay the additional costs such as duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees. Import charges can vary widely but are most commonly based on the price and type of item, package weight and dimensions, origin country, and the taxes, duties, and fees of the destination country.
Most sellers on Etsy are unable to predict which of these fees, if any, will be applied, and Etsy does not expect sellers to calculate or collect these fees or taxes. This information should be clarified in sellers' shop policies. You can learn more about shop policies here.
